By air from the United States
There are no direct flights from the United States to Long Island, Bahamas but Continental Airlines and American Airlines fly into George Town, Exuma. From Geoge Town, Island Wings Charter provides charter flights to Long Island.
Charter flights are also available from Miami, Ft. Lauderdale and West Palm Beach, Florida on Trans-Caribbean Air or Over Under Aviation.
By air from Nassau, Bahamas
The national airline, Bahamasair, provides direct flights daily to Deadman’s Cay, Long Island.
Southern Air and Pineapple Air provide scheduled flights to Stella Maris and Deadman’s Cay.
By mailboat from Nassau, Bahamas
The more adventurous and less hurried traveler can also get to Long Island on the local mailboat, the Mia Dean. The sailing schedule is posted on the Bahamas government website but you should always phone to confirm that the schedule hasn’t changed.
